Now I know that this page is called tacos209 and Fresno is in the 559, but bear with me. There are so many amazing tacos to be had through the central valley, it would be such a shame to limit myself too much.

Tacos 2 Amigos is a great little truck in Fresno. To address the elephant in the room, it is definitely up there for my all time favorite truck designs, and for good reason. The vibrant colors catch your eyes even before you notice the truck owner’s great taste in anime. But the truck has a lot more going for it than a visual gimmick. It serves consistently amazing tacos with a wide variety of meats.

The asada is fried off very crispy, but holds on to a lot of the flavor from whatever marinade they use. It is topped with an amazing salsa that complements it perfectly. Tangy, spicy, it will make your lips pucker and keep you coming back for each bite. Lettuce might be an interesting addition to a street taco for many in Merced, but lettuce and cabbage are rather common toppings for many Fresno trucks, and it honestly works really well. The meat and tortilla are a bit less greasy, so that kick of fresh, vegetal moisture helps cut through the intense salsa and sodium, and keep everything from feeling dry. It is a taco that if a single variable was calibrated slightly differently, it wouldn’t work, but due to solid execution, it ends up all falling into great balance.

Don’t be surprised to see a line for tacos and a bit of wait, but I promise that wait is very worth it. If you’re in Fresno, definitely check them out.
