Time for another truck on the Golden State Boulevard in Turlock. This truck has a similar style to many of the trucks on that street such as El Granero #4, but don’t go without giving it a try. The tacos had great quality, with very flavorful and moist meat. The asada was had a very nice textural contrast between each bite, with nice little crispy bits that weren’t overcooked or burnt, but browned off perfectly.

The salsa is very light and fruity, just acidic enough to cut through the fat, but far less than many trucks. One thing to note is that the salsa is applied rather lightly, yet this taco is in no danger of being too dry by any means. The meat is more than flavorful and moist enough to hold its own, which is a very good sign that the truck is confident enough to serve them rather simply.

The tortillas have a very intense corn flavor, and are cooked off well on the plancha in the residual grease, which they soak up to become even more packed with flavor. The bite on each tortilla is very satisfying, with just enough crispness to give that nice crackle, but then feeling very soft and moist once the crispy exterior is broken.

I can not get enough of the tacos in this part of Turlock, and this truck holds up that reputation well. Definitely give it a try next time you are in the area.
